  • In Kryvyi Rih, the confrontation between Vilkul, whom the CEC declared the mayor of the city, and civil activists, supporting the candidate of the party "Samopomich” Milobog, continues.

Ukraine at War

  • Clashes continue in the conflict zone in the Donbass, and as a result, Ukrainian army is suffering losses. During the previous day, four soldiers were killed in landmines and trip-wires explosions.
  • The power line supports, blown in the afternoon of the previous day on the border with the Crimea, fell. Mass power outages began on the peninsula. Criminal cases were opened on the facts of injury of the police officers and damage to the power company property.

  • Belgian authorities extended the regime of highest danger of the terrorist threat and conduct searches and arrests of persons, suspected of planning large-scale terrorist attacks.
  • French aircraft carrier "Charles de Gaulle" will take part in military operations against militants of the Islamic state in Syria. German Foreign Minister Steinmeier called on President Assad and the opposition to unite in the fight against the Islamic state.

  • Energy Minister Demchishin promises to restore the electricity supply to the Crimea within  four days. Crimean Tatar activists do not allow maintenance crews to begin restoring the power lines. The Ukrainian media spread information that Russia is laying a high voltage cable at the bottom of the Kerch Strait, which will allow to disconnect from the Ukrainian power grids, therefore those power outages will affect the Ukrainian citizens, remaining in the Crimea. However, experts say that the Southern Federal District of Russia is experiencing the electricity shortages and it does not have additional power to be supplied to the Crimea. In addition, the power grids of the peninsula will require the full reconfiguration. The experts concluded that the campaign in media and social networks is carried out by the authorities and oligarchs who are interested in the continuation of trade with the aggressor. Besides, in accordance with international law, the responsibility for the situation in the occupied territories shall be beared by the aggressor country. The leader of the Crimean Tatars Dzhemilev said that they would not oppose to partial restoration of power transmission lines that supply the Kherson region, but they are against the resumption of power supply to the Crimea, as long as there is war in the country and the aggressors are pursecuting the  activists.
  • Kryvyi Rih activists claims that the candidate of the Opposition blok Vilkul, who is a puppet of oligarch Akhmetov, won the election by fraud. The Dnipropetrovsk Court banned the recount of votes in the districts with disputable results. A rally was held on the square in front of the city council. Deputies from the "Samopomich" party threatened that in case of sabotage by the Central Electoral Commission and the Ukrainian authorities, they will be forced to introduce a direct democracy in the city .
