Politics


  • Mr. Poroshenko have been inaugurated as the President of Ukraine. 
  • President of Ukraine Mr. Poroshenko announced termination of ceasefire, implemented during the period of negotiations with the terrorists, mediated by Russian Federation and OSCE. Antiterrorist operation re-started. 
  • Association Agreement with the EU signed on behalf of Ukraine in Brussels by President of Ukraine Mr. Poroshenko.
  • EU and US have repeatedly and unsuccessfully tried to stop the escalation of Russian military intervention to Ukraine through negotiations. 
  • Mr. Klitschko started to combine duties of mayor and chairman of the Kyiv city administration. 
  • Ukrainian parliamentary Mr. Tsarev, have been officially stripped of parliament mandate and announced for further prosecution for separatism and support of terrorists. 

War in Ukraine 


  • Two rounds of peace talks with terrorists of DPR (Donetsk People Republic) and LPR (Lugansk People Republic), mediated  by representatives of OSCE and the Ambassador of Russian Federation, took place in Donetsk. Ukraine have been represented by former president Mr.  Kuchma, terrorists – by Mr.  Shufrych and Mr. Medvedchyk. Negotiations didn’t succeed to de-escalate the conflict. 
  • Terrorists released members of the OSCE mission, taken as hostages in May. 
  • Channel Seversky Donets-Donbass, supplying water to Donetsk region, previously damaged by terrorists attacks, have been restored and humanitarian catastrophe have been prevented. 
  • Official casualties of Ukrainian military during the anti-terrorist operation: 145 killed and 317 injured. 
  • Terrorist attacked major gas pipeline “Urengoy-Uzhgorod-Pomary” in Poltava region. 
  • Ukrainian military plane crashed in Lugansk after being shot down by terrorists. Two Ukrainian military helicopters shot down by terrorists near Slovyanks. All passengers and crew members were killed. 
  • Numerous  checkpoints, seized by terrorists along the Ukrainian-Russian border,  serve as passages for tanks, armored vehicles, artillery, weapons, ammunition and militants supply from Russia. Several Ukrainian army attempts to block the border have been partially successful. 
  • More than 50 thousands of Ukrainian civilians have been forced to move from the combat zone in Donbass.
  • 3 Russian journalists, engaged in reporting from terrorists attacks on Ukrainian military, were killed in Donbas. 
  • Ukraine officially presented evidence of Russian weapons supply to terrorists. 
  • Terrorist tanks reported to freely move within territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions. Several Ukrainian cities have been attacked by "Grad" missiles. Ukrainian military checkpoints and positions have been continuously attacked by terrorists. Terrorists continuously seized administrative buildings and commit attacks on Ukrainian transport infrastructure. Several Ukrainian military bases have been seized by terrorists across Donetsk and Lugansk regions. 
  • All three international airports of Donbass have been closed until further notice.
  • Krasnyj Lyman and Mariupol have been freed from terrorists. Donetsk Regional State Administration have been temporarily transferred to Mariupol. 

Economics


  • Negotiations with Russia on gas supply failed to conclude the agreement. Ukraine was put on pre-payment mode by Gazprom. Ukraine prepares to reverse gas supply from Europe. Gazprom and Naftogaz filed hostile counter arbitrations to the Stockholm court. 
  • Retail and market exchange rate of Ukrainian Hryvnya remains stable versus major currencies. 
  • Split of Naftogaz into two legal entities, one for gas transportation and the other for storage, have been officially announced. 
  • Ukrainian railroad corporation Ukrzaliznitsya became a public liability company.
