5 civilians killed in Donetsk from residential areas shelling with "Grad" missiles

Ukraine

  • President of Ukraine Poroshenko, based on decision of the National Security & Defense Council,submitted for approval to Parliament the decree on partial mobilization, aimed for national defense from proliferation of threat of terrorism and challenge to state security from attack from Russia.
  • Parliamentary from "Batkivshyna" group,  Kozhemjakin, stated earlier today at the conciliatory council, that President Poroshenko plans to dissolve the Parliament on August 26, as well as that groups «Udar» and «Svoboda» will leave coalition in advance before the event.
  • Ukrzaliznytsa re-opened high-speed rail communication with Hundai trains in Donetsk region, on the Kiev - Druzhkivka route. Druzhkivka have been previously liberated from terrorists by Ukrainian army.
  • National Bank set the following exchange rates of Ukrainian Hryvnia (UAH): 11.65 UAH / 1$ (+1 cop), 15.76 UAH / 1€ (+1 cop), 3.31 UAH / 10 RUR (-3 cop).

Malaysian airlines flight catastrophe

  • Prime Minister of Ukraine Yatsenyuk announced at the briefing that Ukrainian authorities are ready to pass the leadership of Malaysian airliner catastrophe investigation to Netherlands.
  • Vice Prime Minister Groisman, Head of the Government Investigation Commission of the catastrophe, said at a briefing that all bodies have been found at the crash site. Train with the bodies have been sent to Donetsk, and then will approach in Kharkiv, for further examination and identification.
  • President Poroshenko said in an interview with CNN that he’ve appealed to the US Congress with proposal to recognize DPR and LPR as international terrorist organizations .
  • During meetings and telephone conversations with the foreign ministers of Malaysia, representative of the Prime Minister of Australia and the President of Poland, President of Ukraine Poroshenko notified partners that Ukraine is ready to provide international experts all the necessary materials, but terrorists are trying to destroy the evidence of their crime and prevent the investigation.
  • Based on the analysis of shrapnel holes images from the airplane housing wreckages, international experts concluded that missile hit the plane near the front of the cargo, and that it have been shot released from the missile system known as "Buk".

War in Ukraine

  • 5 civilians killed in Donetsk from residential areas shelling with "Grad" missiles. Missiles were fired from the area occupied by terrorists. Also shells hit at the factory "Tochmash" factory have been shelled as well, resulting in development of fire. Donetsk Region Governor Taruta, confirmed that Ukrainian military doesn’t us artillery to shell the city. Witnesses report movements of terrorists armored vehicles, artillery and «Grad" on key highways. Houses are burning in many areas of the city, as well as fields around the city, set on fire by terrorists. At least 2 people killed, contact networks damaged and urban electric and power lines destroyed in Lugansk, as terrorists continue shelling residential areas.
  • Several terrorists, including two Russian citizens, among them - Assistant Secretary of Defense of the self-proclaimed Republic of South Ossetia, have been captured by «Aidar» battalion in Luhansk region.
  • Main water supply channel Seversky Donets-Donbass, supplying water to the city of Donetsk, have been damaged as a result of fights in Gorlivka.
  • Russia continues to supply terrorists with weapons and military equipment through unsecured parts of Ukrainian border . Terrorists continue to destroy bridges and elements infrastructure - transformer substations, pipelines, bridges, life-support systems in the areas of Donetsk and Lugansk regions under their control, mine dams, bridges and culverts.
  • Ukrainian military took control over Rubizhne,U Soledar and Dzerzhinsk, fights are ongoing on the outskirts of Donetsk and Luhansk.
  • According to the UN data, published by the press center of the organization on Twitter, number of refugees in Ukraine exceeded 95 thousand people, of whom 15,000 are Crimeans and 80 - from mainland Ukraine.

International

  • The UN Security Council unanimously adopted the resolution on the catastrophe of Malaysian Airlines plane, demanding DPR  terrorists to provide international experts with full access to the crash site and called on all parties to cooperate with the investigation. The resolution also refers to the bringing to justice all perpetrators and condemn the actions of militants in the Donbass.
  • Dutch prosecutors opened a criminal investigation of terrorism and qualified aircraft catastrophe as a war crime.
  • Canada introduces sectoral sanctions against Russian companies and individuals, list have been recently extended following the incident with the Malaysian airliner shot down by pro-Russian terrorists in Donbass, as reported by Reuters.
  • Russian airline company "Grozny Avia" started international flights from Crimea with the provisional landing in Anapa. This could lead for cancellation of its license.
