Ukraine

  • Exhibition of weapons of Russian origin and documents, seized and captured by Ukrainian Armed Forces during the antiterrorist operation, opened in Kyiv Museum of World War II by the Ministry of Defense. Items presented there include various modifications of hand grenade launchers and flamethrowers, antipersonnel mines, portable jet-fighting missiles, multiple rocket launchers «Grad", gun motor carriage "Nona" and antipersonnel mine MON-50, that are not produced in Ukraine and are used by Russian army. Security Service of Ukraine,  denounced scheme and flows of terrorists financial support and mercenaries recruitment, cash transfers for killing of Ukrainian militaries and civilians, as well as blocked lots of transit accounts, related to sponsorship of terrorists.
  • Privatization of Ukrnafta and Odessa Portside Plant have been launched by Ukrainian government. On top of that, such assets as Sumyhimprom, Turboatom, various distilleries, regional and city gas distribution companies, have been included to the privatization list.
  • Official exchange rate of Ukrainian Hryvnia remained almost stable: 11.69 UAH / 1 $, 15.90 UAH / 1 € and 3,43 UAH / 10 RUB (-3 cop).
  • Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Mr. Klimkin informed that negotiations on Association agreement implementation between EU and Ukraine will take place on 12 of September between EU, Ukraine and Russia. Nevertheless, text of the agreement remains unchanged as negotiations aimed to have the consultative format.
  • Traditional annual film festival opened in Odessa. 12 films have been qualified to compete for the Zolotoy Dyuk prize, including winners of Berlin, Cannes and other festivals. Event will be held during 11-19 of July.

Kyiv

  • Kyiv city mayor Mr. Klitschko claimed during the meeting with Ukrainian capital military commissar that protection of bridges and other strategic sites must be reinforced due to the threat of terrorists attacks.

War in Ukraine

  • 18 Ukrainian militaries killed, 93 injured and significant amount of armored vehicles destroyed, as the result of terrorist missile and mine shelling near the Zelenopole village, as reported by the Security and Defense Council speaker Mr. Lysenko.
  • Terrorists shelled Lugansk with mortars and multiple rocket launchers "Grad". Residential areas of Maryinka, southwestern of Donetsk, severely suffered from terrorist shelling. Combat fire have been ongoing whole night near the Donetsk airport. Dzerzhynsk have been attacked with artillery shelling.
  • Terrorists continue attempt to kidnap orphans and move them to Russian territory, as reported by Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Previously, following the similar attempt of kidnapping and Ukrainian legal action through the European Court of Human Rights, Russia had been forced to return Ukrainian children back.
  • Separatists continue to attack Ukrainian military columns on the move throughout the military combat zone. Casualties reported from Ukrainian side. Ukrainian Air Forces made several successful air strikes on terrorists strongholds in Dzerzhinsk (town near Gorlivka) and Perevalsk in Lugansk region. Russia continue to infiltrate and supply terrorists with heavy armored vehicles and weapons via open sectors of Ukrainian border, as well as violate Ukrainian borders with helicopters and surveillance drones. 4 Ukrainian border guards were killed during mine shelling of border checkpoint “DolzhanskIy”.
    Civil workers were killed in few mines of Donetsk region as the result terrorists attacks. Company owning these mines, DTEK, temporarily stopped operations.
    Two parts of the railways have been destroyed in Donetsk but traffic is not affected so far and repair works being implemented in the emergency format.

International Events

  • Mark Feygin, known for dealing with Pussy Riot case, will from now on defend Ukrainian pilot Nadezhda Savchenko, captured by terrorists in Lugansk region and smuggled into Russia
  • In Israel, massive shillings of Tel Aviv by HAMAS and combat strikes are ongoing. Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends Ukrainians to restrain form travels to Israel, until the conditions will normalize within the massive antiterrorists operation.
