  • The situation in Uzhgorod still remains tense. The "Right Sector" fighters  refuse to lay down their arms, because they do believe that the investigation will be fair. In Internet appeared photos where together with the policemen there are armed civilians. The Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that those people are also police officers, but the weapons in their hands on  photographs are not the standard weapons. Observers report on the movement of large amounts of military equipment towards the area of ​​the incident. The leader of the "Right Sector" Yarosh arrived in Transcarpathia, and is trying to resolve the situation. The SSU declares its readiness to assault. The OSCE observers arrived in Mukachevo . President  Poroshenko convenes the War Cabinet regarding the Mukachevo events on Monday.
  • The IMF warned of the negative consequences of the adoption of seven fiscal bills next week.
  • The agreement on the free trade zone with Canada could be signed in the nearest time.

Ukraine at War

  • The situation in the Donbass still remains difficult. The militants shelled the residential areas of Popasne and Avdiyivka, Avdiyivka Coking plant was damaged, several civilians were injured. Russian troops and militants are carrying out the regroupping, getting reinforcement from Russia and conducting the fighting reconnaissance. In the area adjacent to the combat zone, the appearance of modern Russian machinery was recorded. During the last 24 hours Ukrainian army lost two soldiers and five soldiers were wounded.
    President Poroshenko stated that Russia is increasing the number of troops on the border, which is confirmed not only by the Ukrainian intelligence, but also by the operational data of the US and NATO.

Ukraine and the World

  • The Summit of the Heads of Governments of 19 EU countries decided to leave Greece is in the Eurozone. The country is asking to increase the assistance to it from € 55 billion to € 86 billion to overcome the financial crisis, at that it needs € 22 billion already by the end of August. In exchange for the provision of assistance, the Committee of Creditors demands the adoption by the Parliament by 15 July of the laws on pension reform, changes in taxation and increasing of the VAT. In addition, Greece has to transfer the state assets for the amount of € 50 billion euros for further sales to cover the debt, and creditors should be granted the right to veto the decisions of the Greek government. Otherwise, Europe is ready to start the process of withdrawal of Greece from the Eurozone. NATO Secretary General stated that in any circumstances, Greece will remain a member of the Alliance.

The Trends


  • The events in Mukachevo showed the level of the society’s distrust of the authorities, which are trying to prove that the “Right sector” was responsible for the incident. However, the comments of the local police leadership, of deputy Lanyo (former crime boss) and in the media are indicative of the systemic corruption within the governmental bodies, which since the Maydan times made no attempt to fight the smuggling, but only redistributed the shares in this criminal business.
