Ukrainian army repulsed the attacks of the militants in the surroundings of Mariupol. According to official reports, during the previous day, three Ukrainian soldiers were wounded.

  • Investigative Committee of Russia tightened the wording of charges  against the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Savchenko, kidnapped by the militants in the Donbass, and illegally detained on the territory of Russia.
  • IMF chief Lagarde said that the Fund will not be able to provide more financial assistance to Greece. Nevertheless, according to the US, the EU and Greece must find a compromise within the common interests to keep the country in the eurozone.
  • German Chancellor Merkel, after discussing the Greek problem with French President Hollande, said that the door to negotiations with the European creditors is open. The EU can give a chance to the Greek government to save the country’s economy, but for that Greece has to appear at the EU summit with definite proposals.
  • A sharp drop in oil prices by 10% was recorded on the internation market, at the same time, the ruble rate also fell.

The Trends


  • Searches in the General Prosecutor's Office shown that many of its senior officials are corruptionists and bribe-takers. However, according to the experts from the law enforcement agencies, the selective prosecution of individual representatives of middle and senior leadership might be just a showcase for others in order to strengthen the "power vertical" and a demonstration of the fight against corruption for the international community.
