  • The Head of the Donetsk military-civil administration Kikhtenko was dismissed. It is planned to appoint Deputy Attorney General Zhebrivskyi to this position.
  • Ministry of Economic Development reported that the total cost of the technical assistance projects to be implemented in Ukraine by foreign partners is $ 3.3 billion.

  • The National Bank reduced the amount of commercial banks refinancing by almost 10 times. In May six banks got loans for the total amount of UAH 1.4 billion. The National Bank notes that the situation in the foreign exchange market stabilized.
  • The official hryvnia exchange rate slightly changed: 21.15 USD/USD (+0.02 UAH), 23.86 UAH /EUR (+0,05 USD), 3.86 UAH/RUR 10 (+0.07 USD).

Kyiv Life

  • Near Kiev the fire continues at the large oil delivery terminal, at least four people were killed, more than a dozen received severe burns, two people are still considered missing. The Interior Ministry opened a criminal investigation regarding the fire and suspects the company - owner of the terminal of the manufacture of adulterated fuel and violation of the technological standards during the construction of the object.
  • One of the main highways of the capital, Prospect Bazhana, was blocked by the businessmen protesting against the demolition of their shops and stalls in the underway  and near the "Kharkivska" metro station. They demand from the municipality to solve the conflict through negotiations.

Ukraine at War

  • The fighting in the Donbass becomes more and more intense, the militants are using heavy armor and artillery more often. During the previous day, according to official reports, eight soldiers were wounded. At night the shellings of Ukrainian positions dramatically increased, especially in Shyrokine and settlements near the Donetsk airport. Observers noted that the militants received new Russian multiple rocket launchers. The last checkpoint to the occupied territory of Luhansk region was blocked.
  • The head of Lugansk regional civil-military administration Moskal ordered to turn off the power and the television transmitters on the territory controlled by the militants, and dismiss all the employees of the public broadcasting group, if they do not move from Lugansk to Severodonetsk.
  • Another Russian "humanitarian" convoy appeared at the border with Ukraine. Russia continues to deliver the supplies for militants in the Donbass under the guise of "humanitarian" aid, which is not being checked by the Ukrainian customs officers and international organizations.

Ukraine and the World

  • Ukraine informed the Council of Europe of the suspension of the implementation of some provisions of the European Convention on Human Rights on part of its territory. It is officially announced in the statement that parts of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions are occupied by Russia.
  • Russia does not like the existing format of the Minsk negotiations, it insists on the participation in negotiations of the militants as a legitimate party. The next meeting of the contact group in Minsk is planned for 16 and 23 June.
  • In Paris, a meeting of deputy foreign ministers of the "Normandy Four" on resolution of the crisis in the Donbass took place. Ukraine, France and Germany tried to convince Russia of the need for full implementation of the Minsk Agreements. The participants consider the Russia’s proposal to expand the contact group by adding there the representatives of the militants unacceptable. If elections are to be held in the occupied territory, they will take place under the full control of the international organizations. The West urged Russia to ensure the cease-fire by militants and Russian troops, supporting them.
  • The European Parliament adopted a resolution depriving Russia of the status of a strategic partner of the EU and plans to develop an urgent plan to oppose the policy of aggression and disruption, carried out by the Russian Federation.
  • A meeting of representatives of the German Aerospace Center and the State Space Agency of Ukraine was held. It is planned to expand the cooperation and implement the joint programs. Ukraine is changing the orientation of its strategy of the space industry development in the direction of the West.
  • Russian court extended the detention of Ukrainian deputy Savchenko, captured by the militants in the Lugansk region and transported to Russia. Foreign Ministry protested against the activities of the Russian authorities.
  • Russian President Putin was an hour late for the meeting with the Head of the Roman Catholic Church - Pope Francis.
  • EU urged to ban the foreign funding of political parties in the countries - members of the European Union.

  • The organizer of the rally on the Maydan Tashbaev was found after his disappearece. He claimed that he was beaten by the police officers. A day earlier, the head of the Security Service of Ukraine Nalyvaychenko announced about his exile from Ukraine as an agent provocateur, who worked for the Donbass militants. According to experts, this incident may cause international scandal and calls into question the competence of the leadership of the SBU, the Interior Ministry and the Foreign Ministry.
