  • The OSCE observers opened a patrol base in Stanitsa Luhanska. This is the eighth base in a war zone. In the evening, mission patrol car was shot by a militants sniper in Marinka, the staff was not harmed.
  • On January 18, the decision of the Cabinet comes into force , according to which trade with the occupied Crimea is banned. It is only allowed to carry personal belongings, socially significant food products and humanitarian aid.
  • Russia returned to Ukraine a soldier, who accidentally crossed the state border in Melovoe-Chertkovo.
  • President Poroshenko posthumously awarded 118 soldiers who took part in the fighting in the Donbass, including five defenders of the Donetsk airport.

  • Representative of Ukraine at the talks in Minsk, Bessmertny said that we should not talk about elections and amnesty in the Donbass until the safety factor is implemented.
