The European Union has prolonged sanctions against persons involved in the Russian aggression. Relative inactivity is observed in the conflict zone. One more Russian "convoy" invaded Ukraine.

Key Events of Ukraine

  • President Poroshenko introduced to the Verkhovna Rada a draft resolution on the special procedure of local self-governing in certain areas of Donbass. Zone borders are defined in accordance with the Minsk Agreement of 19 September 2014 and do not include the settlements along the fighting line.
  • The prosecutor's office in Odessa considers the death of one of the district procecutors of Odessa, who fell out from the high-rise building, a murder.

Ukraine at War

  • ATO headquarters recorded the reduction of fighting intensity, only one Ukrainian soldier was injured during shelling.
  • Half of the unscheduled Russian "convoy", which invaded Ukraine, consisted of fuel tanks.
  • Russia continues to strengthen forces on the Eastern border with Ukraine. There is no reliable information from militants about the withdrawal of heavy weaponry. OSCE mission observers are not allowed to inspect its basing locations.

  • Ukrainian doctors were allowed to examine the Verkhovna Rada deputy Savchenko who is illegally held in Moscow jail on a charge of the murder of Russian journalists during the fighting in the Luhansk region in the summer of 2014. They consider her health state satisfactory.
  • The European Commission has received an official request about deployment of peacekeeping contingent in the Donbass area from the Ukrainian government.
  • The EU prolonged the sanctions against individuals associated with the annexation of the Crimea and aggression in the Donbass for another six months.
