Key Events of Ukraine

  • President Poroshenko in "Bykivnia grave" National Historical Memorial Reserve in Kiev, honoured the memory of the Stalin's regime victims. He stated that the time had come to clear Ukraine from the communist symbols.
  • In Odessa, an unsanctioned rally of the pro-Russian activists who were trying to get to the Kulikovo Field near the House of Trade Unions took place. At the same time, the patriotic forces also held a rally, which was separated from the other one by the police cordon, and that allowed to avoid collisions.

Ukraine at War

  • In the morning Shyrokino was under the shelling. The members of the European Parliament during their visit to the fighting area became convinced of violations of the Minsk Agreement by the militants. Chermalyk, Granitne, surroundings of Donetsk and Gorlivka, Stanitsa Luhanska came under fire. The border guards were engaged into battle with the subversive group that dropped back to the Russian territory. Near Schastye the "Aydar" battalion  captured two Russian servicemen from the Federal Security Service of Russia special forces. During the day, 3 Ukrainian soldiers were killed, 17 were injured.
  • The General Staff reported on concentration on the Ukrainian border of about 50 thousand Russian troops consisting of the battalion task groups that can perform both independently and as part of a single force grouping.

  • After the lifting of sanctions, Iran is ready to provide up to the half of the oil supplies volumes  to Europe on a long-term basis, as well as based on the spot contracts. The volume of exports may reach 2.5 million barrels per day with the prospectve growth to 5.7 million barrels per day.
  • The occupation Russian authorities started the construction of a bridge that would connect the Crimea and the Krasnodar region.
