Ukraine at War

  • During the day in the conflict zone in the Donbass remained truce. Militants are conducting provocative attacks, to which Ukrainian army does not respond. As a result of shooting near the Donetsk airport there are casualties among civilians, and there was a fire in a nine-storey building. The Head of the OSCE mission expressed his concern and called on the parties to the conflict to comply with the Minsk agreement.
  • The leader of the terrorists DPR once again postponed till April local elections in the occupied territories.
  • General Military Prosecutor Matios considers possible an exchange of captured soldiers of the GRU special forces of the Russian Federation to Savchenko, Sentsov and other Ukrainian citizens illegally detained in Russia .

  • As a result of the terrorist attack in Ankara (Turkey), 97 people were killed, dozens were injured. Experts connect the spread of terrorism throughout the country with the escalation of the conflict in Syria, from where a strong flow of refugees is directed to Turkey and  with whom the militants of the Islamic State are penetrating into the country .
  • The Pentagon and the Ministry of Defense of Russia held consultations on Syria to avoid collisions of aircrafts during the air strikes of the Russian aircrafts in the conflict zone.
  • UN Secretary-General criticized Russia's actions in Syria and said the air strikes still cause a big problem.
  • The commander of US forces in Europe, General Hodges said that Russia launched a military operation in Syria in order to divert world’s attention from the events in Ukraine.
  • On the eve of the presidential elections in Belarus, the opposition held a meeting at which they called for a boycott. Leaders of the protesters said that the elections outcome is predetermined.
  • Egypt signed a contract with France for the supply of the"Mistral"  class helicopter carriers which were not delivered to Russia due to the imposition of sanctions.
