  • The head of German Chancellery Altmaier rejected suggestions about the withdrawal of sanctions against Russia in response to its help in resolving the Syrian crisis. According to German politicians, such actions can cause serious anxiety in states located between Berlin and Moscow.
  • German Chancellor Merkel said the current working methods of the Security Council are not sufficient to solve the world's problems; its structure needs fundamental reforms.
  • The Russian company "Aeroflot" in response to the sanctions has canceled three flights to Kharkiv and one - in Odessa. The sanctions include a total ban on flights of companies "TransAero" and "Aeroflot" from 25 September.
  • President Poroshenko departed on an official visit to the UN General Assembly where he is scheduled to speak at the session of the Assembly, as well as holding meetings with the presidents of the United States and Poland.
