  • President Poroshenko spoke at the international Yalta Economic Strategy Annual Meeting. US presidential candidate Trump during a teleconference with the meeting participants said that Ukraine should receive greater international support.
  • President Poroshenko sees no point in continuing negotiations in Minsk in 2016. In his opinion, the elections should be held in Donbas under Ukrainian law with the participation of Ukrainian parties and with the coverage by the Ukrainian media.

  • The situation in Donbas remained relatively stable, however in the evening the militants resumed firing from small arms and grenade launchers at the northern suburbs of Donetsk: Avdiyivka and Opytne.
  • The SSU list of the missing in action includes 804 names, however international humanitarian organizations believe the figure to be much higher.
  • Commissioner for the Peaceful Settlement of the Situation in Donetsk and Luhansk Regions Herashchenko said that the mission of the International Red Cross can gain access to the occupied territories to search for the dead and the missing Ukrainian soldiers.
  • SSU reported that the commanders of the Interior Ministry battalion "Slobozhanschina" was preparing the murder of the Interior Minister Avakov, as well as several MPs and public figures in Kharkiv and Kyiv.
  • OSCE Secretary General announced plans to enlarge the Special Monitoring Mission to Ukraine.

  • In downtown Yerevan, police dispersed a rally of citizens protesting against increased electricity prices. The power utility system of Armenia is fully owned by Russian company Inter RAO.
  • US President Obama called Russia's support for Syrian President Assad “a big mistake” that is “doomed to fail.” He also stressed that the US and Russia have “an area of potential converging interests” in fighting the terrorist ISIS organization.
  • Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov insists on the complete withdrawal of foreign mercenaries from Donbas. Russian soldiers, in his opinion, are not mercenaries. A spokesman for the Russian president Peskov said Russia was not obliged to comply with the Minsk Agreement, since it is not a party to it.
  • Ukraine's Foreign Ministry condemned the visit to the occupied Crimea of the Russian President Putin and former President Berlusconi.
  • President Poroshenko discussed with US Assistant Secretary Nuland the progress of implementation of the amendments to the Constitution provided for by the Minsk Agreement.
  • Representatives of the European Commission and Naftogaz hope to sign an agreement with Gazprom on gas supplies for the coming winter season by the end of September.
  • A meeting of the Presidents of Ukraine and the USA has been scheduled for the UN General Assembly.
