  • Mariupol court released on bail a district administration officiary, who was detained by the SSU on suspicion of separatism, after she organized a referendum in the city in May 2014.
  • Temporary investigative commission of the Verkhovna Rada on the events in Transcarpathia interrogated MP Lanyo and  the representative of the "Right Sector". Head of Regional State Administration Moskal claimed that the former Head of the region funded the "Right Sector". According to the local media, military units, using combat helicopters and armored vehicles, are carrying out an operation to capture the “Right Sector’s” soldiers, hiding in the highlands. The activists of the party announced about the end of the protest near the President Administration, but urged people to gather for the Viche (rally), which is planned for July 21 on the Maydan.
  • The parliamentary group of the “Somopomich” party in the Verkhovna Rada recalled its deputy Ptashnik from the Constitutional Commission due to the fact that she voted in favour of the presidential draft amendments to the Constitution. Previously, for the same reason, deputy Gopko was released from the post of the chairman of the parliamentary commission on foreign affairs.

Ukraine at War

  • The fighting in the Donbass resumed with renewed vigor along all the combat line. The militants are shelling the occupied Donetsk from different directions to make semblance  that the Ukrainian army is violating the ceasefire. The settlements in the surrounding of Mariupol, Donetsk, Popasna, Luhansk were under shellings. The militants used tanks, heavy artillery and MLRS. In some cases, Ukrainian command orders to return the fire. The Anti-Terrorist Operation forces are preparing for the militants attacks in several directions. During the day, according to official reports, one Ukrainian was killed and five were wounded.
  • The General Staff announced about the demobilization of nearly 40 thousand soldiers called for the military service during the first and second part of mobilization.
  • The second batch (100 pcs.) of Humvee armored SUVs was deliverd to Odessa .

Ukraine and the World

  • The spiritual leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei said that despite the nuclear deal with the United States, the country will not abandon its policy and will not obey the dictates of the West.

The Trends


  • The international law experts indicate that the West requires the implementation by Ukriane of the Minsk agreements regarding amendments to the Constitution, as in the text of the document this condition is not directly connected to the cease-fire, the exchange of prisoners and the withdrawal of the machinery and troops from the territory of Ukraine. At the same time, the requirements for Russia, which is directly ignoring these agreements, are declarative.
    According to the Ukrainian legislation, the status of the Minsk Agreements is not defined, they are not an international treaty and not ratified by the Parliament, but President Poroshenko insists on their unconditional implementation.
