  • President Poroshenko is ready to dismiss the Head of the SSU Nalyvaychenko, who announced that fuel business BRSM was provided a crime-sponsored cover by former Deputy Prosecutor-General Danilchenko.
  • Chief of Supreme Court of Ukraine Romaniuk said that in a few days President Poroshenko was going to make a proposal to the Parliament to change the Constitution in order to have the first stage of voting to be completed before the end of the current session of Parliament.
  • State Statistics Committee reported that the trade surplus of Ukraine for the first four months in 2015 amounted to more than a half a billion dollars, which is almost three times higher than in the previous year.

Ukraine at War

  • Military operations in the Donbass does not stop for a single day; militants shell the Ukrainian Army’s positions and settlements by the heavy artillery, MLRS and tanks all along the line of military contact; the activity of subversive groups became more intense everywhere. There was fixed a transfer of a large contingent of militant troops into Gorlivka. Fights are keeping constantly in Shyrokine, Maryinka, near Donetsk airport, and highway "Bahmutka." OSCE registers dozens of attacks per day. Official loss of Ukrainian army this day – two soldiers were killed, 20 were injured.
  • A spontaneous rally of residents of the area adjacent to the airport was held in the center of Donetsk. The protesters demanded to ensure the safety of their homes by stopping  provocations against the Military Force of Ukraine or starting of a decisive offensive to displace Ukrainian troops. Head of the DPR militants Zakharchenko came out to the protesters and told them that it was not possible to stop the war so far.
  • State Border Service of Ukraine has received the technical equipment worth over € 7 million from the European Union as an military aid, including pickup trucks for patrolling, passenger vans, thermal imagers and secure laptops.
  • The number of officially registered migrants from the Donbass and Crimea has exceeded 1.3 million.

Ukraine and the World

  • The air show "Le Bourget" was opened in France. Ukraine would introduce a new military transport aircraft An-178. Before the start of the air show President Poroshenko replaced the Director - Chief Designer of "Antonov" Kiva, under whose direction the aircraft was created, with a MP of Presidential party, the Director of a Khmelnitsky automobile showroom.
  • US Assistant Secretary Nuland said that President Obama has not yet made a decision on the providing Ukraine with lethal defensive weapons. The decision might be taken in case of a sharpening of the conflict in the Donbass. The aim of the US is the peaceful settlement of the conflict based on the performance of the Minsk Agreement.
  • Russian Central Bank lowered the key rate to 11.5% per annum  again, and downgraded the outlook for the country's economic decline according to the results of the year from 3 to 3.2%.
  • Russia warned the United States that the sending a significant number of armored vehicles to the Baltics and Eastern Europe is a breach of the treaty between the Russian Federation and NATO of 1997, whereunder the Alliance had made a commitment not to deploy substantial combat forces in the territory of the region.
  • The 43rd US President’s brother Jeb Bush announced his candidacy for the upcoming presidential elections and promised to help Ukraine in case he was elected.

The Trends

  • Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Shimkiv tried to explain why the "Roshen" company owned by President was not still sold. According to experts, business ownership is a violation of the status of civil servant and corruptive abuse of official position.
  • Observers attribute the possible dismissal of the head of the SSU Nalyvaychenko to his attempt to intervene in the business covered by the prosecutor's office and the lack of personal loyalty to President Poroshenko.
