Key Events of Ukraine

• The "cyborg", Lt.Col. Kuzminykh, released by militants on Friday, was awarded with the Order "For Courage" by President Poroshenko. Another 228 soldiers who had been  killed during the fighting in the Donbass were also awarded with the orders.

• In Lugansk region, one of the leaders of the militants LPR, the "Ghost" brigade commander, Mozgovoy was killed in a car explosion.
• Fighting in the Donbass does not cease along all the demarcation line. According to official reports, one Ukrainian soldier was killed and five were injured. As a result of shellings, Avdiyivka lost power supply , and water supply line in Stanitsa Luhanska, which provided Lugansk  and surrounding towns with water, was damaged. Head of the Luhansk military-civilian administration Moskal said that it should be repaired by the militants themselves.
• The representatives of the Russian embassy refused to meet the Russian paratroopers, who were injured and captured during the fight in Schastya, claiming that the Ukrainian side prevents such meeting.
• DPR leaders claim that they do not need any additional elections and referendums to determine the status of the Donbass, since they already held it.
• Another soldier of  "Aydar" volunteer battalion was released, he was a hostage of militants for seven months.

• President Poroshenko discussed with US Secretary of State Kerry the conflict settlement process in the Donbass.
• In Russia, a law allowing to assign the status of "unadvisable" to foreign and international non-governmental organizations came into effect .
• Serbian Prime Minister Vučić claimed that the country cannot join the EU sanctions against Russia, because it would cause significant damage to the country’s economy. Nevertheless, he stressed that Serbia is committed to the EU accedence.
• Europe implements its intentions to reduce the dependence on Russian energy supplies.The amount of natural gas supplied  to the EU from Norway exceeded the amounts supplied from Russia, moreover, Norwegian natural gas is much cheaper.

The Trends

• Experts believe that the murder of one of the Luhansk militants  leaders Mozgovoy may have been committed by the Russian special forces, since he did not fully obey the Russian commandment. This murder could lead to the strengthening of the structure "of the army of New Russia", or give evidence of cessation of the militants direct support by Russia. In this case, the main goal of Russia will be to "freeze" the conflict, undermining th economy of Ukraine.
