  • SSU opened a criminal case on charges of conspiracy against former President Yanukovych, officials of his regime and judges of the Constitutional Court whose purpose was change of the constitutional order and the usurpation of power in the country.
  • The Ministry of Justice has launched an electronic business registration service and extract of the information about legal entities.
  • Prime Minister Yatsenyuk believes that subsidies for utilities could be received by 15 million Ukrainians and promised to compensate for thermal insulation of houses. The Cabinet of Ministers instructed the Commission for regulation of services in the energy sector to oblige heat generating companies to install heat meters at the entrance to the house to reduce costs of the utilities to the public.
  • The official rate of hryvnia against major currencies has not changed: 23.51 UAH/USD (+0.01 UAH), 25.54 UAH/EUR (+0,04 UAH), 4.35 UAH/10 RUR (+0 10 UAH).
    Ukrainians sell currency more than buy already two months in a row.

Ukraine at War

  • According to the deputy commander of anti-terrorist operation Fedichev, Russia concentrated in the Donbass assault force composed of 700 tanks, 1,100 armored vehicles, 600 artillery systems, 380 MLRS, 110 air defense systems and 9 thousand soldiers. Militants at roadblocks are in full combat readiness.
    Two Ukrainian soldiers were killed during the day.
    Observers of the OSCE mission declare non-compliance with the ceasefire in the conflict zone in the Donbass.
  • Amnesty International believes that pro-Russian rebels commit war crimes in the Donbass.

Ukraine and the World

  • Russia is ready to sell gas to Ukraine without penalties for not taking full amount.
  • The EU believes that the visit of Prime Minister of Greece to Moscow does not give the reason to doubt the unity of Europe on sanctions against Russia.
  • Dutch prosecutors investigating case on the downed flight MH-17 partially opened documents from the investigation to the public.

The Trends


  • Attempts by the General Prosecutor’s office to challenge the results of privatization of energy companies sold during the presidency of Yanukovych may lead to further re-privatization wave after renegotiation of all the competitions developed for one participant. Many business owners are ready to go to the court for the right of ownership of these assets. Experts suggest that a possible solution would be to pay the difference with the market value of the companies to preserve the existing owner.
